Being Thankful for your life and the journey God has set you upon can bring great joy. Even in hard times there is always something to be thankful for. Thankfulness causes us to realize how far we have come and also how much God loves us. Despite things not going your way and plans changing, remaining thankful can cause a positive outlook on life as a whole.
Having a heart filled with Thankfulness causes worries to disappear. If we are thankful for where we are now and what we do have our focus will shift to all that we are grateful for. There will be no time to focus on what we do not have or past experiences that may have brought pain or disappointment. Being Thankful for your relationship with God will channel your thoughts to positivity and remind you of who God created you to be.
Sometimes situations in life can be so overwhelming. It is easy to get caught up in thoughts of what could have or should have been. It’s also easy to remember experiences that have caused you hurt and pain. But when you shift your focus and accept that God has created you for more, your emotions and thoughts change instantly. We live in a time where mental illness is the norm. Anxiety and depression is the most common mental illnesses to deal with. Some people deal with these mental illnesses by taking prescribed medication or doing illegal drugs. Some do breathing exercises and go to therapy sessions. Everyone has their own way of dealing with unwanted emotions to escape so they can feel better. But a heart filled with Thankfulness is priceless!
God has given us all we need to combat negativity, and get through hurt and disappointments. We just have to tap into His plan for us. That is to depend on Him knowing confidently that He is there for us, loves us as well as being Thankful for God’s place in our lives. I’ll end this post with an excerpt from Psalm Chapter 92:10-15 “But my horn, my emblem of strength and power you have exalted like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil for your service. My eye has looked on my foes; My ears hear of evildoers who rise up against me. The righteous will flourish like the date palm long-lived, upright and useful; They will grow like a cedar in Lebanon, majestic and stable. Planted in the house of the Lord, They will flourish in the courts of God. Growing in grace they will still thrive and bear fruit and prosper in old age; They will flourish and be vital and fresh, rich in trust and love and contentment; They are living memorials to declare that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.(Amplified Bible)
I hope you gained some encouragement today! Go and be who God created you to be! Be Thankful and flourish!
Happy Wednesday!
With Love,
JB ❤️
