God Is Faithful!

Happy Wednesday!

One way I like to stay connected with God is to read His word. Sometimes I make it a habit to read God’s word daily but some weeks it may be a little less. I don’t have any particular way that I read my Bible, I just open it up and whatever page it falls on I start there. Yesterday while reading I came across the book of Ezekiel, Chapter 16. When I read I prefer to read the entire chapter instead of only a few verses. The Bible is full of stories that help us to learn from and view examples of how people of God lived. Some had crazy lives where they rebelled against God and lived their own way. Others followed God, His instructions for their lives and were rewarded. Some God just had mercy on because He is just that Faithful.

Today I am going to share with you a breakdown of how Faithful God is in His relationship with us. In the book of Ezekiel Chapter 16 the story is about a woman who was very promiscuous. She was as we would say in current times very free with her sexuality. The problem wasn’t that she was free in her sexuality but that she had a greed for sex.  She prostituted herself but not in the way that a normal prostitute would. She actually paid men to be with her, she did not get paid. She took it a step further and made herself available to more men that she would pay as time went on. God let her know that because of this He wasn’t pleased with her. He reminded her that He had been there for her from the day she was born when she had nothing and no one. He let her know if she was to continue living this way she would have consequences to reap.

After God’s warning, she continued to live her life in a way that wasn’t pleasing to God. He let her know of all of the consequences that would come. He also let her know all of what she was doing was worse than what her two sisters had done. Then the Chapter ended with God saying this: “Yes, says the Lord God, I will also deal with you as you have done, you who have despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Nevertheless, I will remember with compassion, My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you. Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your sisters, both older and younger; I will give them to you as daughters, but not because of your covenant with me. “And I will establish My covenant with you, and you will know without any doubt that I am the Lord, so that you may remember in detail and be ashamed and never open your mouth again because of your humiliation, when I have Forgiven you for all that you have done,” says the Lord God.(Amplified Bible).

Wow! Even in the lifestyle she chose and although she broke her covenant with God, He refused to break His covenant with her. Instead He remembered the covenant He made to her before she became a prostitute, before she did anything unpleasant to God. He still chose to have compassion for her, bring her sisters to her and forgive her for all that she had done. I mean come on now, God is a Faithful God! He doesn’t have to do that but because of His great love for us there is nothing we can do to make Him not love us or not have compassion for us in every situation.

I hope you feel loved today because you are loved! Never Forget, God Got Us!

With Love,

JB ❤️
